This local festival has quickly become an area favorite. The festival will take place at the Villagio Shopping Center. The arts portion is free to attend and takes place from1-6PM while the wine tasting event is from 2-5PM and costs $20. This cost includes unlimited sampling from the available vendors as well as commemorative wine glass. You’ll love learning more about each wine as each vineyard representative will be on-hand and available to discuss each selection and answer questions.

Fairhope, Alabama is located just a short drive away from your vacation condo in Perdido Key and well-worth the drive, especially during their annual arts and crafts festival which happen to be taking place this March.

The Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival will be held beginning Friday, March 16, 2012 until the following Sunday 10AM to 5PM daily. The event is totally free and you may need all three days to cover it! Wander the charming streets of the downtown area taking in the beautiful flowers, boutique shops and loads of vendors in the middle of the street. That’s right, the entire section of town is shut down and taken over for this festival!

Come on out and spend a spring day watching artist paint in the streets, shopping the crafts of the vendors, munching on traditional festival food and dancing along the avenues to the live entertainment. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon when on vacation along the Gulf Coast!

Did you know you can catch a Blue Angels air show practically year-round when you vacation in Perdido Key? With NAS Pensacola as their home base, catch them in the Gulf Coast skies for practice on select dates from March through October!

On most Tuesday and Wednesday mornings you can head over to the National Naval Aviation Museum in nearby Pensacola bright and early for an airshow unlike anything else you will see. The sessions begin promptly at 8:30AM, however, please arrive a half hour before start time. While bleachers will be set up behind the museum feel free to bring lawn chairs, water and sunscreen so that you can enjoy the ‘show’ in comfort.

Be sure to stay after the Wednesday morning sessions as well. On most Wednesdays there will be a free autograph session with the pilots inside the museum.
